THE LAST WARNING (to the Church of God–What’s left of it)

The Original Warning
This diagram depicts the last three transitions of the ONE (and only one) Church of God. Based on Herbert W. Armstrong’s teaching of the Seven Church Eras, it was published and distributed beginning February, 1987. In Revelation 2 & 3, God gave us “a map” to follow so that we in the modern age can pinpoint our location in church history. The original diagram correctly warned that the change of eras had occurred January, 1986, at the death of the head of the Philadelphian Church and that, thereafter, the Church would continue on in the Laodicean Era.
While correctly identifying the existence of the new Laodicean Church, I did not believe back then that the organization known as the Worldwide Church of God would break into pieces. Because I knew it as a strict, fundamentalist group, I thought it not possible for any of its ministers to get enough support from members to successfully start a rival church as a challenge to the authority of the one who sat “in Moses’ seat,” considering that not even the Lord Jesus Christ Himself did that. I did not foresee how bad it would really get, how unfaithful the entire ministry would be, and how proud the membership would become in their refusal to see the truth EVEN AFTER “the pudding.” So, I need to bring this information up to date.

The Updated Warning
Schisms, schisms everywhere and NEVER another true Church organization to join. After the LAST ERA warning was given to the Worldwide Church of God, there began to spring forth daughter churches who were brazen and haughty yet were wearing veils of piety. Soon these offspring multiplied like rabbits! This additional diagram shows just a limited sample of the confusion which has existed–proof that Satan is having a real field day, using the former ministers of God to pull the wool over all the poor sheep’s eyes. This Satanic deception plays out whenever an ambitious hireling-minister (or even member)–if he (or she) can get enough followers to shell out enough tithe monies–starts up one more church.
The absolutely revolting mess out there is due to impatient people desperately wanting to take matters into their own hands. When God said in Revelation 5:10 that He made us “kings and priests,” He DIDN’T MEAN we could take charge if we were right and the leader was wrong. He DIDN’T MEAN we could run our own churches if we had no place to go. He said “we shall reign on the earth”–that timeframe being after Christ returns, NOT NOW!
So, if you are believers in the Bible, take heed as the real God–not your private facsimile of Him–tells you what happens to anyone who justifies taking the Lord’s matters into his own hands. Don’t you know the tragic story of Saul, who was the Lord’s anointed before he started doing his own thing? See 1 Samuel 13: 6-14; 15: 20-23; 29: 17-19 to know how God deals with usurpers–sooner or later.
There are church-smart people out there thinking they are sitting pretty. They are figuring that they have the Holy Scriptures, the Sabbath and Holy Days, the Ten Commandments, the belief in the coming Kingdom of God, and the (their) Church (to which they faithfully, expediently tithe). So, they believe that this surely must add up to their also having God. Wrong. For all their smarts they do not even know their own history. Did not our spiritual ancestors the Jews, in basically the same situation, also believe that they had God?
Come on now! What is the Church today but New Testament Israel! You are in denial as to what happened to our parent Old Testament Israel. They did not believe they were in any trouble either; for they also were too smart for their own religious britches. The Jews did not repent of their oversight due to their smugness and have rigidly stuck to doing what was right in their eyes. How stubborn are they? Stubborn enough to remain unrepentant for close to two millennia. Stubborn enough to go through a holocaust and not seek the God they once rejected. How about you?
If you now refuse to apply the historical lesson, if you avoid Bible truths when they would damage your image, if you can’t imagine your being wrong, you have made your tribulation-bed and will have to lie in it. You are making the choice to enjoy the moment, leaving the cold, hard facts to be faced later. Time will prove this to be a tragically unwise choice.
God is not the author of confusion!
And, there is no free ride to the Kingdom.

The Last Warning
This is the last piece of the puzzle. Wake up and smell the truth! When there was confusion and uncertainty, those were tough times; but those days are long, long gone. You have run out of time. Enough with the spoon-feeding. You’ll get no more information from me. The rest you’ll have to figure out on your own. Here are the keys to understanding: Think DUALITY; look for THE PARALLEL; learn from THE EXAMPLE of others. Hey, it’s your future; it’s high time you worked for it. For your own salvation, “bust your gut!”
