What are your beliefs? Are they different in any way from HWA’s understanding?
We believe that HWA laid the foundation for God’s temple by restoring lost spiritual doctrines to the Church, i.e., the Sabbath and Holy Days, along with the principle of duality for prophetic understanding. While there are some points in our current understanding that the WCG under HWA did not teach nor practice, they are firmly rooted in and built upon the foundation laid by HWA. Because all truth grows and expand and is not static, naturally there have been some new understandings as a result of growth since HWA’s death.
For instance, many believers today are concerned with trying to determine the correct day for observing Passover and Pentecost, etc. While we do believe that we could be wrong with regard to our former understanding under HWA, we also believe that these peripheral issues will come into their proper understanding and perspective as we ACT on what we know we should be DOING. Since these observances are based on the natural, physical laws God ordainded, getting our lifestyles in tune with God’s natural order will reveal the answers to us.
While we firmly believe that we should not neglect the importance of the correct spiritual understanding, we are also at the same time convicted that the Church should restore the correct physical lifestyle God intended mankind to live.
We do not concentrate solely on the message of the Second Coming and the restoration of the Kingdom on earth by preaching this truth to the world. Our focus is also on the work adult believers must be doing as adult partners with Christ, i.e., assisting Him in bringing the Kingdom Plan to earth. Our emphasis is not only on the commandment to rest on the seventh day Sabbath which foreshadows the Millennium. We are also following the rest of that commandment which states that we shall labor six days in the manner God originally ordained in Eden. The complete restitution of all things (Acts 3:21) is the key to understanding the work of the Church today. True believers must prepare the way for the Second Coming by bringing all aspects of life under God’s Kingdom Plan as a witness to the world by showing the world how to live and not just by preaching/talking about it. As in the days of the early apostles, our beliefs are manifested in our total way of life, as we keep both the physical and spiritual laws of God in our daily lives.
